Expert security analyst Zagazola Makama noted that the family has now ceased further negotiations following the kidnappers’ sudden silence.

The sources stated: “Since receiving the N10 million ransom payment, Abba’s abductors have completely cut off all communication with the family.”

Left with no word on his whereabouts and fearing the worst, the family has made the difficult decision to move forward with Islamic funeral traditions.

They announced: “Abba’s family are preparing to hold his Janaza prayer (Gha’ib) on Friday, March 6, in accordance with Islamic rules.”

Despite the grim outlook, the family expressed their thanks to those who stood by them: “Abba’s family wishes to express profound gratitude to everyone who offered support, prayers, donations and kind words during this difficult period. May the Almighty reward your generosity abundantly.”

While they are preparing for the worst, a sliver of hope remains.

A family member added: “If he has passed on, may Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.”

Before the silence, a distressing video surfaced showing Abba being subjected to horrific torture.

In the footage shared by SaharaReporters online, the corps member was seen being flogged and kicked by bandits while he pleaded in Hausa for his life.

The video captured his desperate final appeals to the public: “Please help me for God’s sake, please help my life. I may soon die in this situation.”

Even as he was smashed to the ground and beaten with sticks, Abba continued to invoke religious pleas to move his captors, crying out: “For the sake of Allah, please help me. For the sake of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), please help me. Please help my life.”
