The lawmaker representing the Ikeja Federal Constituency, James Faleke, has secured the All Progressives Congress Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
In Abuja on Tuesday, the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, initiated the formal proceedings and presented the forms to Faleke, who also leads the Tinubu Support Groups.
Faleke’s payment of N100 million and the collection of the documents on behalf of the President officially mark the start of Tinubu’s campaign for a second term.
The Independent National Electoral Commission has scheduled the Presidential and National Assembly elections for Saturday, January 16, 2027, while the governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections will take place on Saturday, February 6, 2027.
The commission also stated that the window for party primaries, as well as the settlement of any associated conflicts, will occur from April 23, 2026, to May 30, 2026.
According to INEC, the official period for presidential and National Assembly election campaigns will begin on August 19, 2026, while the start date for governorship and state assembly campaigns is set for September 9, 2026.
