The federal lawmaker representing Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency, Hon. Donald Ojogo, cheated death on Saturday following a ghastly motor accident along the Ore-Ondo highway.
According to reports, the crash was triggered by a reckless commercial bus driver who executed a dangerous overtaking move, smashing into an oncoming vehicle and sparking widespread panic among road users.
While Ojogo, who recently secured re-election to the National Assembly, escaped serious injury, several members of his entourage suffered varying degrees of harm. At the time of the incident, the legislator was journeying to Arogbo in Ese-Odo Local Government Area to attend a political meeting.
Reflecting on the near-death experience, Ojogo expressed profound gratitude to the Almighty for preserving his life and the lives of his team members. The lawmaker said God took perfect control of the situation and prevented what could have turned into a tragic incident.
He strongly blamed the crash on dangerous driving, accusing the commercial bus driver of impatience and recklessness on the highway. Meanwhile, all individuals who sustained injuries during the collision have been promptly evacuated to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment.
