The electoral process in Ejigbo, Osun State, suffered a major disruption following a sudden outbreak of violence at a local polling site during the ongoing governorship elections.
The crisis reportedly sparked off after a young voter stumbled upon items purportedly connected to vote-buying and tied to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the youth, he and several other youths intercepted and seized the materials, noting they could not stand by and watch illicit electoral practices unfold without intervention.
Things quickly escalated when individuals believed to be connected to the items appeared at the scene and allegedly tried to forcefully abduct the youth who exposed them.
The resulting tension created panic, forcing voters, local residents, and officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to run for safety as chaos took over the area.
Video clips capturing the incident show locals scattering in multiple directions while vehicles and motorcycles navigated through the commotion to escape the danger.
As of reporting time, official confirmation regarding whether any individuals sustained injuries remains unavailable.
