Dan-Morgan Ihomun, serving as State Publicity Secretary for the Austin Agada faction of the party, verified the occurrence while confirming that fatalities were successfully avoided.

Ihomun stated, “The accident happened in Lafia and it involved two vehicles. But there was no loss of life. Those who sustained injuries have been rushed to the hospital.”

This misfortune echoes a previous tragedy involving party representatives commuting from Benue toward Lafia for official political engagements.

On March 25, 2026, three representatives hailing from the Ogbadibo Local Government Area lost their lives alongside ten others who suffered injuries after their transport vehicle veered off course while journeying from Makurdi to participate in the APC North-Central Zonal Congress.
