President Bola Tinubu has announced the death of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, who passed away at the age of 56.
A statement from the President’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that Lagbaja died on Tuesday night in Lagos following a period of illness.

President Tinubu extended his sincere condolences to the family of the late Chief of Army Staff and to the Nigerian Armed Forces, offering his support during this difficult period.
He also wished Lt. General Lagbaja eternal peace and recognized his remarkable contributions to the country.
