The 2023 nnpp governorship candidate Hon Uche Ben Odunzeh , has strongly condemned the gruesome killings that took place last Friday 24 July, across Umualoma, Ndiakunwanta, and Ndiejezie Communities in Arondizuogu, Ideato North L.G.A of imo state.
As nwafoigbo killings has never been part of our lifestyle Odunzeh lemented , describing the massacre as “inhuman unprovoked,& utterly reprehensible”, decrying a culture of unchecked violence that undermine the very foundation of civil society.
We must never allow violence killings ,armed robbering and kidnapping to become commonplace,nor give room for impunity to thrive. The security and peace of our people are non- negotiable. Every citizen has the right to sleep without fear and to wake without grief.
The state and federal government must take Immediate action to protect our local communities, apprehend the perpetrators, and provide the necessary support to prevent future attacks, Enough for the killings in our land Odunzeh added. We need to enhance the security measures that incorporate local intelligence gathering and seamless collaboration with our local police.
The pains and loss suffered by the victims and their families cannot be quantified. In addition, I want to urge the number one citizen of the state, His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma and all the security agencies in the state to rise beyond the confines of partisanship,fear, and self-interest and act swiftly to institute a security framework that protect, respects rights and restore peace.
In the moving expression of solidarity, I Hon uche Ben Odunzeh extended my deepest condolences to the bereaved families and the entire Arondizuogu community, praying for divine comfort and the strength to bear the weight of this unspeakable loss.
