According to witnesses, the crowd accused the legislator of neglecting the area since his election, claiming he had effectively abandoned the community during their most difficult times.
Specific grievances included allegations that he neither attended Sallah festivities in the town nor visited to commiserate with families affected by repeated bandit attacks.
The situation became so volatile that security operatives were said to have intervened to restore calm and protect the lawmaker from further harm.
The chaos unfolded as Governor Lawal visited to launch the reconstruction of the 90-kilometre Dansadau–Gusau road.
During the trip, the governor aimed to bring relief to the troubled area by ordering the “reconstruction and rehabilitation of the town’s General Hospital” and the installation of “solar-powered electricity to improve living conditions.”
Governor Lawal reassured the people of his commitment to restoring security, rebuilding critical infrastructure, and improving the welfare of communities affected by insecurity.
To honor his efforts, the Governor was turbaned and received the Chieftaincy Title of “Garkuwan Dansadau” from the Emir of Dansadau, Alhaji Garba Muhammad.
