Zulum Fires All Commissioners, Dissolves Executive Council

The Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has officially authorized the immediate dissolution of the State Executive Council.

This announcement was contained in a statement released on Monday, March 30, 2026, by the Secretary to the State Government, Bukar Tijani.

According to the statement, the Governor’s decision was made “to provide an enabling environment for any member of the council who may wish to contest elective positions in the forthcoming general elections.”

To ensure a smooth transition, Governor Zulum has instructed all serving commissioners to hand over the management of their various ministries to their respective Permanent Secretaries.

This handover is expected to be completed “on or before Friday, April 3, 2026.”

In his closing remarks regarding the cabinet reshuffle, the Governor “expressed his profound appreciation to the outgoing commissioners for their dedication, commitment, and invaluable contributions to the development and service of the people of Borno State.”
