The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faction aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has officially inaugurated a new slate of executive members for its National Working Committee (NWC).
The elective national convention took place on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the velodrome of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
Following the dissolution of the national caretaker committee, the new NWC members were elected through a consensus process.

This development highlights the ongoing polarization within the opposition party, which remains split into two distinct camps.
The convention proceeded despite a legal move on Friday by the Kabiru Turaki-led faction, which had approached the Supreme Court to “restrain” the Wike camp from holding the event.
