Lere Olayinka, a media aide to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, created a dramatic scene on Friday after refusing to field questions from Arise TV anchor Rufai Oseni during a live broadcast.
Appearing on The Morning Show, Olayinka openly protested against engaging with Oseni, stating that he preferred conversing with individuals he deemed reasonable instead.
The tension kicked off after Olayinka expressed anger over Oseni’s previous use of the Yoruba word “emudani” to characterize certain persons.
When Oseni pressed him to address why former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Betta Edu, was reportedly linked to a presidential campaign council despite corruption scandals, the Wike aide completely shut down the line of questioning.
Directing his response straight to the anchor, Olayinka declared, “Well, I’m very sorry to say this, Oseni Rufai, I don’t want to answer any question from you. I want to concentrate.”
He doubled down on his stance by stating, “I want this conversation to be among reasonable human beings, people who will not come and tell, who will not come and describe other people as ‘emudani’.”
