He called on patriotic politicians to disregard efforts by certain individuals casting aspersions and launching negative campaigns against Tinubu. “We in the North must unite and work together to secure a reelection for Tinubu and Shettima in the 2027 general election,” Kwankwaso stated.
However, he cautioned northern politicians against aligning with a few dissenting voices advocating for an alternative Southern candidate in 2027.

Speaking with journalists on Sunday in Kano, Kwankwaso explained that if someone other than Tinubu wins in 2027, the North could face another eight-year wait before power might return to the region.
Kwankwaso further noted that those arguing security issues as grounds for opposition were not being fair to President Tinubu, who has implemented numerous measures to address the security challenges posed by armed banditry in the North.
