A member of the House of Representatives representing the Aba North and South Federal Constituency under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Alex Ikwechegh, was involved in an incident on Sunday where he assaulted an e-hailing (Bolt) driver who had come to deliver a package.
A now-viral video captured by the driver shows Ikwechegh repeatedly slapping and berating the driver for asking for his delivery fee, questioning whether the driver knew who he was speaking to.

Ikwechegh claimed that the driver had disrespected him by requesting he come outside to collect the snails he was meant to receive, given his social status.
In the video, he was heard threatening to make the driver “disappear” without facing any repercussions, asserting that he was a “Senator” of the country.
