The Cross River State government has announced Thursday and Friday as public holidays to allow residents to participate fully in the council elections set for Saturday, November 1.
This directive was issued in a statement by Nsa Gill, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, on Wednesday.
According to Mr. Gill, the decision provides ample time for those traveling from Calabar to other parts of the state to fulfill their civic responsibilities.
He encouraged residents, particularly voters, to utilize the two-day holiday to engage in the electoral process and make their voices heard.
