How To Apply For FIRS Recruitment [PHOTOS]

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has announced that its recruitment portal for tax officer positions will open on November 2nd, 2024, starting at 12:00 am.

In a post on Friday via X, FIRS stated it is seeking qualified candidates for Officer I and Officer II roles at various locations across Nigeria.

“Women, minorities, and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply,” the agency highlighted in its official recruitment notice.

The openings are available in eight states: Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, Ekiti, Lagos, and Oyo. However, candidates must be ready to work at any FIRS location, regardless of their preferred initial posting.

To qualify, applicants need to meet specific criteria, including an age limit of 27 or below as of December 31, 2024. Additionally, candidates must have completed their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) no later than December 31, 2021.

Educational qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree or HND in First Class or Second Class Upper Division in relevant fields such as Accounting, Actuarial Science, Business Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Economics, Law, Mathematics, Statistics, and related disciplines.

FIRS noted that having a relevant master’s degree or professional affiliations (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, COREN, NSE) will be an added advantage.

The selection process will involve several assessment stages.

“Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further assessments, which may include aptitude tests, interviews, and medical examinations,” FIRS stated.

The agency advised candidates to apply only through the official portal at www.firs.gov.ng/careers, warning against fraudulent recruitment activities. The application deadline is November 14th, 2024.

Candidates are encouraged to submit only one application per preferred location, as multiple applications will be disqualified.
