According to FiveThirtyEight’s latest national poll tracker, Harris leads by a narrow 1-point margin, within the margin of error, with neither top contender surpassing 50 percent. Harris currently averages 47.9 percent support against Trump’s 46.9 percent.

In the Blue Wall states, which typically lean Democratic but are in play this year, Trump holds a slight lead in Pennsylvania (47.9 percent to Harris’s 47.6 percent), while Harris is narrowly ahead in Michigan and Wisconsin.

Trump leads by 1 point in Nevada, 2 points in Georgia and North Carolina, and 3 points in Arizona.

A significant shift appears to be taking place in Iowa, a state Trump previously won in 2016 and 2020, where a well-regarded poll from the Des Moines Register and Mediacom shows Harris with a 3-point lead, 47 to 44.

Harris’s gains are notably strong among women, older voters, and independents.

However, Trump’s base support may be at risk, as only 89 percent of Republicans currently back him.

Other polls from Iowa still show Trump with a lead, indicating the race remains highly competitive.
