This development follows three grid collapses in a single week toward the end of last month.

This latest incident marks the ninth grid disturbance in 2024 alone.

“BREAKING: National Grid suffers another setback. Restoration soon!” tweeted @NationalGridNg around 2:45Pm on Tuesday.

As of this report, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has yet to confirm the incident, leaving Nigerians uncertain about the cause of this latest blackout.
