Some political thugs loyal to the All Progressives Congress (APC) have been captured assaulting people at the Edo election petitions tribunal sitting in Benin City.
The tribunal is sitting at the High Court complex in Benin City.

As the thugs lashed on to assault those who came to witness the tribunal proceeding for the day, men of the Nigerian Police force watched on and didn’t stop them.
The thugs proceeded to chase the attendees out of the court premises with the police who are meant to maintain law and order doing nothing.
The behavior of the police at the tribunal has been described by many as a collaboration with the APC and the thugs.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate in the September 21 Edo governorship election, Asue Ighodalo are challenging the victory of Monday Okpebholo who was declared winner of the election despite many objections and reports of lack of transparency in the collation process of the results.
