The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has adjusted the gantry price of its petrol from N699 per litre to N799 per litre, leading to a new pump price of N839 per litre at MRS filling stations.
In a statement released Monday evening, the refinery explained that the change follows the end of the holiday season. “With the festive period concluded, PMS prices have been modestly realigned to sustainable levels to support long-term market stability and affordability. Under the current alignment, the PMS gantry price is N799 per litre, while MRS retail outlets are selling at N839 per litre,” the company stated.
The refinery noted that it had previously absorbed higher costs as a “deliberate and temporary price support intervention” to assist Nigerians during the holidays.
This was the second year the facility provided such relief, including “logistics support in 2024 and a price reduction in 2025 to promote affordability and market calm.”
However, the refinery pointed out that “many filling stations failed to reflect the new price at the pump, thereby denying Nigerians the benefits of the reduction.”
David Bird, the Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Petroleum Refinery, assured the public that the facility is still delivering about 50 million litres of petrol daily to the local market.
He emphasized that the refinery’s “design flexibility” allows it to maintain a steady supply even during maintenance.
According to the statement, “As a domestic producer, Dangote Petroleum Refinery continues to shield the Nigerian market from import-related volatility and external supply disruptions, while remaining a stabilising force in the downstream petroleum sector.”
The company concluded by reaffirming its mission to provide “energy security, price stability, and long-term value for Nigerians.”
